Sharon Lane- I cried
Hi everyone,
It has been awhile since I have had some spare time to update my website, so I'll fill you in with what's been happening!
The end of 2008 saw a number of gigs for me around my hometown area as we were getting ready to head off to Tasmania in the New Year.
January was an absolutely brilliant time as we headed
down to Tasmania for the Putalina Festival. What a
beautiful place and the locals truly welcomed us and
made us all feel at home. Their festival is held at the
beautiful Oyster Cove. A very sacred yet special place
for Tasmanians. We will return to this magical place and
we made some fantastic friends with Carla, Raylene and
many others.

My fourth
single release ‘It's all over now baby blue’ has been released to
radio!
Please request it on radio!
The true enjoyment in what I do in the way of performing is having my 14yo son Kodi right at my side. He has been travelling with me since the age of 12 and is a true talent. We are currently writing material for my next album and you have to sometimes pull up a chair and listen to Kodi's talent as it just blows me away! Love you Kodi xx
At the end of January we headed down to the Eaglerock festival at Canberra which was hosted by Hardrush Music Corporation. It was terrific to finally meet some of the other artists who are also on the same label as me and what great artists they are.
The Victorian & National Country Music Awards were just brilliant! We had the best evening and felt pretty important. We walked the red carpet and no I didn't fall which I sometimes have a habit of doing in those shoes. Thank goodness!
We hung out with some of the artists you get the chance to see on television. Adam Harvey was just hilarious as he kept the humour coming all night long. Catherine Britt & the Mclymonts were also winners and it was nice to photographed along side them. John Williamson was very humble and a truly nice guy. Greg Champion was so funny and very talented as well. It was a very memorable night. The next day however, was absolutely devastating with the bushfires.
On March 1st, I am
hosting a benefit concert at the Dubbo RSL Club in
support of the people of Victoria. Many of our locals
will be joining me and performing for the cause. We will
be running an auction, so if you are in town we'd love
it if you could join us.
The
Coopers Golden Saddle Awards at Galston was an
amazing experience!
I was the first to perform so the nerves were quite
frantic at first and I soon settled in to what I do best
and that’s to give my all. The most appreciative
audience showed their support and thoroughly enjoyed the
evening. Drew McAllister and Matt Frost were just as
nervous as we entered and left the stage eagerly
awaiting it to end.
Congratulations to
Drew and Matt on their success as they both performed
exceptionally.
I don’t think any of us were sure who would take it out
as we all did a wonderful job.
Many thanks must go to Donna Boyd for all her hard work. It was no walk in the park for Donna and everything ran to schedule. I would also like to thank the Galston Country Music Association, the many organizers involved, the judges and of course the audience.
Special thanks to Pat Drummond and the Galston Allstars and a special mention to my son Kodi Lane. Kodi had the honour of performing with the some of the greatest musicians in the country and he certainly made me very proud.
Thanks to everyone who voted for me and showed your support. I had a fantastic time catching up and meeting everyone at the festival.
